Notes
Steven and David went to Naibowa to follow up on the hand washing stations in the homes, this is very important because it helps the WASH team to reach their target of every home with a hand washing facility. Steven and David also feel it’s important because it gave them the opportunity to encourage those who do not have hand washing facilities to construct their own. Steven and Da I’d were joined by the LC 1 Chairman and the VHT and they moved from to home , in every home Steven and and David requested the owner of that home to move with them to show his/her hand washing facility and other sanitation facilities, where there was need to to improve Steven and David advised them accordingly. At the end of the Exercise Steven and David were able to visit 40 homes, they observed that in three homes the rains washed away their bathrooms and their dish racks but Steven and David encouraged them to construct new ones which are strong enough to withstand the rains . but the overall coverage of hand washing facilities in Naibowa was not so bad so this calls more improvements in all the remaining homes. According to Steven,s observation ,the improvements on the rest of the other facilities was good . Except for the homes which were still lagging behind.

Notes
Steven went to Igerera B to fix the borehole handle protector. Prior to the visit , the community had agreed to contribute money to wield the handle protector, they gave the money to Steven to help them and wield the handle. When Steven reached the , he was welcomed by 8 men and 5 women including the village chairman. Before Steven could fix the borehole handle protector, he first taught the community members about the value and importance of the handle protector, Steven said the handle protector helps the bearings to stay in place and also protects the cylinder not to be over worked. Steven also used this opportunity to encourage the community members to reach out to everyone to improve hygiene in their homes by cleaning their jerrycans. After the lessons , Steven with the help of the community members started fixing the handle protector, it was fan because everyone was willing to play his or her part including the children. At the end of the meeting Steve’s looked around a few homes and observed that most kitchens were being smeared and the women thanked kibo for introducing safe health kitchens in their community.Steven will be going back on 20/03/2020 to follow up on the plastering of the water source fence before he can open the borehole for the community.
