Notes
Steven and Chris went to Butabira village as a follow up on the construction of sanitation facilities such as pit latrines, dish racks, hand washing stations and rubbish pits. It has been a month since WASH team did triggering in this village were by everyone embraced the idea of making their community a better place to live however Steven and Chris made an impromptu visit to follow up how the members are engaging in sanitation. Steven and Chris were joined by the area VHT and the chairman who accompanied them in the door to door visits. They visited 60 homes however at least every home had a new pit latrine being constructed and the rubbish pit as well except the dish racks because they have not been taught how to construct dish racks however Chris and Steven used this chance to mobilize every member to be around on Monday when the wash team will be teaching how to construct the best dish rack in the community. In every home Steven and Chris visited , they found a change because the members have started cleaning their compounds and they found a few cases of open deification which was so encouraging. The overall observation was that those who did not have pit latrines and rubbish pits have used the tools the WASH team took the village to construct them and the members are asking for more. Steven and the WASH team will be going back to the village to teach about the construction of the best dish rack on Monday 16/03/2020.
