Notes
This was meant to be a meeting intended to have everyone in the community know the steps that the community will have to meet before the borehole can come to their community from Kibo. Today Alex was to speak about the community contributions and why it’s important for a community to participate in contributing towards their borehole even when they have not yet got one drilled by Kibo. It’s important that everyone knows these steps to avoid any arguments that always arises from the community. However the meeting didn’t take place due to another function that collided with our meeting. There was a local area cultural leader who organized a function not very far from Budumba village and this took away many people and only very few stayed. The few people that stayed pleaded to Alex to give them another chance where by everybody in the village has to be available to participate in this meeting and learn more from Kibo. Alex and the community members together with the village leader decided to have another meeting on 28/02/2017. Alex however was able to visit the 4 of the remaining people in that community that were still doing something in their homes to see if there was anything that changed since the previous visit. He was happy to find that Mugabane Grace had dug about 23ft and he wants to go farther. Charles and cedrachi had finished digging 20ft and had started constructing on it. Abdul has dug up to 30ft and was going farther. Musoke finished building on the pit latrine and his kitchen and only needs to put the roof on both the pit latrine and the kitchen. Alex will continue to follow up and guide these people until they finish as he continues to also prepare the community going through the steps that the community has to fulfill before a borehole can be drilled in their community.
